Meet Heaven McCoy
Are you thinking about starting therapy?
Whether it’s anxiety that won’t let up, feeling disconnected from your purpose, navigating generational trauma, or simply feeling exhausted from being “strong” all the time—this space is for you. You don’t have to keep carrying it alone. I specialize in holding space for high school teens, adults, and couples—especially those in BIPOC communities, those deconstructing faith, and those craving a therapist who just gets it.
You deserve a space where you don’t have to explain your culture, code-switch, or silence your truth. Let’s work together to create that space.
Professional Background
I hold dual master's degrees in Social Work and Public Administration, with extensive experience in trauma-informed care, community mental health, and crisis intervention.
Specialties
I have particular interest and experience in supporting individuals navigating:
-
Racial identity
-
Family conflict
-
Life transitions
I primarily work with teens, adults, and couples.
My Approach
My approach is relational, affirming, and culturally grounded. I use evidence-based modalities including CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, trauma-focused care, and strengths-based work—but I always start with you: your story, your identity, and your lived experience. I believe therapy should honor your voice, your culture, your spirituality (or your questioning of it), and your strengths.
Clients often come to me for support with anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, grief, family and peer conflict, relationship issues, low self-esteem, racial identity, religious trauma, snd stress stress. I also work with couples and families navigating communication, connection, and change.
